The building is designed to interact with its surroundings, protecting itself but at the same time making the most of it. Solar radiation in Qatar, although an exceptional resource, poses significant problems and therefore all architectural choices, from form to materials and use of technology, are focused on its solution. The building combines new technologies with the principles of “passive architecture” used in these areas in the past: insulation, internal ventilation, the study of shadows and natural light and all energy sources have been carefully considered to minimize environmental impact.
